Ground-breaking Movement with The London Underground
How we are helping as footfall and passenger numbers increase
According to The Guardian 1.171 billion passengers made their way across London in 2012; two years on this number is only growing. With this in mind, Strata Tiles have been working with London Underground to modernise the ground beneath their feet (literally).
Designed specifically in conjunction with the London Underground project, our GranitoCem tiles are a granite-based product suspended in a vacuum-formed cement-based matrix. Intended for heavily trafficked areas including stations, platforms and concourses; the floor tile is supplied in pre-finished tile formats to comply with London underground’s slip resistance criteria (no site grinding required). GranitoCem had to pass stringent tests and conditions to be considered for such a project but has since been rolled in stations such as Baker Street and Embankment. Available in eight different colours, all of the items in this collection are created in a unique environment resulting in a stronger more compact product.
