Going Above & Beyond: Mark's Story

In 2012 we supplied PPC Tiling with one of our popular stone and tile ranges for the walls of a residential lobby in Canary Wharf, Landmark West Tower. Despite meticulous planning, the events that unfolded could have led to the delay of a well awaited and publicised project if Strata Tiles had not stepped in to assist. The material arrived safely on Thursday a week before the TV launch of the apartments. However, although the right collection had arrived on schedule the colour of tiles themselves were not. The situation was complicated further when it was then discovered that the factory was closed between Friday and Monday and could therefore not deliver the correct tiles until Tuesday the following week, two days before the scheduled launch date. Knowing the importance of getting the correct tiles to site, Mark Hughes (Sales Manager at Strata Tiles) took it upon himself to put a plan of action in place. Going above and beyond the call of duty, Mark hired a van to collect the three pallets of stone from Belgium and deliver to site all in one day. I left at 4am and didn’t get home till 10 that night; PPC worked through the night and completed the job leaving everyone happy.” Mark concluded.
