Strata Tiles becomes a sponsor of The Surrey Hills CowParade

Strata Tiles sponsors cow design in a bid to raise money for local charity, Shooting Star Chase at Loseley Park.

CowParade is coming to Surrey and Strata Tiles are pleased to announce their involvement as a local sponsor for the event. Individuals, companies and schools will sponsor life-sized cows which they will decorate themselves or with the help of an artist. These cows will then be sold at auction with the proceedings being split between the Surrey Hills Trust and a charity chosen by each sponsor. Born in Switzerland in 1998, CowParade has been seen over 3,000 cows decorated and displayed in more than 80 cities and towns worldwide since its inception, including New York, Mexico, London and Paris. The highest-grossing cow was created by designer John Rocha for CowParade Dublin in 2003 – studded with thousands of pieces of Waterford Crystal it was auctioned for $146,000. Strata Tiles has joined forces with International design practice Scott Brownrigg and local artist Anna Whittle to sponsor their cow design, Heritage Cow, a cartographic illustration of landmarks, memories and architecture that form Surrey. “She’s an interactive expression of our culture and history,” explains Fiona Grieve, Architectural Assistant at Scott BrownriggStrata_tiles_heritage_cow_2016 Furthermore, Strata Tiles and Scott Brownrigg have chosen their half of net proceedings from the auction of Heritage Cow to be donated to local charity Shooting Star Chase Hospice at Loseley Park, a leading children’s hospice charity caring for babies, children and young people with life-limiting conditions, and their families. Running between May and September 2016, the CowParade will not only help to raise awareness of this special landscape but also safeguard its future through donations to the Surrey Hills Trust Fund.
